I am back in Southeastern Alaska and this contract couldn’t have come fast enough, I was so excited to come back, I figured that I wasn’t done with the sculpin ID. Nor did I get enough of the Prowfish and Wolf Eels, and I know I needed to find more Heart Crabs and Rhinosorus Crabs so, well even with that I knew I had to come back.
I boarded the Swell in Ketchican and while I was awaiting for it to arrive I met a fabulous Swiss couple that were out taking pictures of their new home for the next ten days. After seeing their excitement for the adventure to begin, I knew that I was not the only one that understands the draw to Southeastern Alaska.
A group of Russian divers and a Swiss couple is what complemented my family, mix in with that a Fabulous Captain Tim that gets everything done while always looking calm and collected, a 1st Mate, Alex, that is Mr Fix anything; A Brazillian Chef, Paulo, that offers a variety of cuisine and enough food for an army and Hostess Jamie, who will get guests everything they need and is always up for a laugh. And then add Me, Diveguide Leeanne, who is so excited about every single day sometimes I need to stop and breath inbetween sharing fish ID secrets and getting us to our dive sites.
It looks like it is going to be a great season. My first trip with my new family was great. The guests enjoyed their experience and were in awe of the fact that topside views and activities were just as exciting as the diving adventures.. Cant wait for more.
